New Fusion Taco Spot Soul Fire Opens in Scottsdale Airpark |
Featuring southern kitchen Scottsdale and highlighting Scottsdale new restaurants |
Soul Fire Tacos has ignited the Scottsdale Airpark dining scene with its grand opening on February 21, 2026.
Located at 15111 N. Hayden Rd., Suite 120, this new eatery is the brainchild of Dana Dumas, the visionary behind SugarJam The Southern Kitchen.
Just steps away from her original establishment, Dumas introduces a fusion of Southern comfort and Latin zest in a fast-casual setting.
“Black and Brown cultures have always had synergy,” Dumas remarked.
“From our family traditions to our music and our cuisines, bringing the two together was a no-brainer.”
The menu boasts unique tacos like beer-battered catfish and short rib birria, alongside crispy Japanese panko shrimp and tequila lime wings.
The standout “Soul Roll” combines fried mac and cheese, candied yams, and greens, offering a taste of Southern kitchen Scottsdale flair.
Daily rotating specials ensure there's always something new to savor.
At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Johnnie Dixon, a former Ohio State wide receiver who transitioned from the NFL to the culinary world.
“I always preach about being different and being more viewed as more than just an athlete,” Dixon shared.
“I enjoy seeing people up when they eat something I made, and I hope to bring many smiles to the Arizona community.”
With seating for 24 in its 900-square-foot space, Soul Fire Tacos is a cozy addition to Scottsdale's new restaurants.
Operating hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For those seeking unique tacos in Scottsdale, this spot promises a flavorful journey where Southern soul meets Latin fire. |
